HUMMING BIRD RECORDS has released ONE ONE & ONE (HB CDs 2 & 3), an engaging and groundbreaking Double-CD set. ONE (CD 2) features HENRY KUNTZ: Solo Tenor Saxophone. ONE & ONE (HB CD 3) features DON MARVEL: Time Machine, Prophet Sampler, Turntable, "Live" Signal Processing and Mixing and HENRY KUNTZ: Tenor Saxophone, Chinese Musette, and Nepalese Bamboo Flute.
ONE (CD 2) is Henry Kuntz's first solo tenor saxophone music to be released in over 15 years, continuing to advance the saxophone language but entirely different in scope and feeling from the earlier music. Other solo saxophone music of his can be heard on the first two HUMMING BIRD LPs, Cross-Eyed Priest (HB 1001), recorded 1979, and Ancient of Days, Light of Glory (HB 1002), recorded 1980.
ONE & ONE (CD 3) is a first-time collaboration between Henry Kuntz and electronic wizard, Don Marvel. This provocative CD sets its course on a new direction in the aesthetics of music-making and marks the first time Henry Kuntz has been featured in an exclusively electronic context.
